Anyone know what "brontophobia" is? No? Me neither.
Pop Up just ran in here and said "Brontophobia! That's what I have!"
He tried to think of the word about 3 weeks ago when we were eating ice cream outside in Maine with my dad.
Smart mom that I am - I had NO CLUE what this was, so Googled it. I need to put a column on the sidebar with all the things I Google each day - that would be interesting, wouldn't it?
Brontophobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of thunder that causes undue anxiety even though sufferers realize that thunder itself poses no threat to them.
I learned something today. Kinda makes you wonder who's the teacher and who's the student, doesn't it?
added: I forgot to mention earlier, he also said "I wonder if that's why they called a brontosaurus "thunder lizard" ... cuz it made a big boom when it walked ... get it - ~bronto = thunder and ~saurus = big lizard"
What's up.

Oh my goodness! I didn't know there was such a word because my daughter has that fear. Big time! She will stop dead in her tracks and want to go home from wherever we are, even if we are inside, to go home when she hears thunder. Very interesting!
Very interesting! How sad that he has brontophobia; it means you'll never be able to move to Indiana. :(
